[vc_row text_align=”center” text_color=”#ffffff” type=”image” padding_top=”300px” padding_bottom=”200px” bg_image=”749″][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css=””]Many enemies of the cross of Christ are quick to label disciples of Christ to discredit their life and faith in Christ.  It’s as old as the first century when it began.  One of the accusations heard among many is that of lying.  There’s probably not one of us who hasn’t been guilty of this at least a time of two.   It’s difficult but necessary to be frank with people who ask you a question that you do not want to answer.  Yet, it’s better to say say, “It’s none of your business” or “I’d rather not say” than to mislead someone.   This is not always done with the intent to hurt but is often just the opposite or withholding information to protect someone’s interest or to avoid an adverse reaction.  But, good intentions do not erase the wrong committed.  I may just remind you that during times of war or the Jewish holocaust, many lies were told to protect lives, just like Rahab or Abraham.   I still question the meaning of John 7 when Jesus was asked by his unbelieving brothers if he was ready to go to the feast in Jerusalem.  The implication was that he would be going with them in a public open way and he said that he wasnt’ going.  The KJV adds, “yet” as if to suggest that he would go up later.   That seems reasonable but it is not in the oldest manuscripts and the KJV adds things in texts to make sense when it sometimes misses it.  We know what he said.  There’s good evidence from the Greek text that he said he wasn’t going.  But, that still leaves it open for interpretation.  Since, many were on their pilgrimage there with their clans and that was the expectation, he could have been implying that he wasn’t going with them now.    It doesn’t mean he wouldn’t have gone later.  We are not told anything more except that he intended to go up later so he could  enter privately as his time was not yet.  This is just the kind of thing that provides an opportunity for someone  to say, “I thought you said you were not going.”

However, I have observed many who are quick to call one a liar when it is unjustified and false.  Seeing that lying is the intend to deceive, it seems to me that as far as I am concerned, I need to speak truth with my brothers and avoid lying.   Second, I would be wise to mind my own business and be slow to indict someone else of lying for the simple fact that I can’t judge the heart.  Since lying is the intent to deceive, “catching” someone in a lie could be an unjust and false conclusion on another person.  There are too many factors involved to think that we have this ability down to a science.  I have even heard people explain that liars don’t look someone in the eye.  Though there’s some evidence for this, it is not a sure thing.  Perhaps, you’d do better not trying to play God.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][kleo_button title=”Launch Project” style=”see-through” size=”lg”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row inner_container=”no” type=”color” bg_color=”#000000″ padding_top=”0″ padding_bottom=”0″][vc_column][vc_images_carousel images=”741,740,739,737,736,734,733,735,728,731″ img_size=”300×140″ hide_pagination_control=”yes” min_items=”2″ max_items=”8″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row section_type=”footer” padding_top=”40px” border=”bottom”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
